Carroll, Tracey

Biography: 

Tracy Carroll has worked as a director, dramaturg, youth theatre programmer and producer for many years in both Ontario and Alberta and spent 6 years as the Artistic Associate- North for Alberta Playwrights’ Network. For another 6 years she was Artistic Associate at the Citadel Theatre and while there co-created and directed KidsPlay @ the Citadel, a series of plays for children and their families. Since moving to Edmonton from Ontario in 1999, Tracy has worked for many companies in the city including Fringe Theatre Adventures, Shadow Theatre, Concrete Theatre, Northern Light, Workshop West, Alberta Workers’ Health Centre, Freewill Shakespeare Festival, and Walterdale Theatre.  Tracy is the Coordinator of both Peep Show! and the Staged Readings at the annual SkirtsAfire HerArts Festival. Both programs celebrate the new works of Edmonton playwrights through workshop development and readings of the plays. Recently, she was Dramaturg and Director for Conni Massing’s play, The Invention of Romance for Workshop West Theatre, and Director of That’s Danger! for the Alberta Workers’ Health Centre. She also adjudicated the 2014 ADFA Provincial One-Act Festival, and directed the annual Sprouts Festival at Concrete Theatre last Spring.
