Sarah Garton Stanley is originally from Montreal, and now lives between Ottawa and Kingston. Sarah founded her first theatre company, The Baby Grand (Kingston, ON) in 1985makes new work, directs plays, and works dramaturgically in most things. She is the Associate Artistic Director of English Theatre at Canada’s National Arts Centre and co-director of Selfconscious theatre. Sarah has taught at Queen’s, York, and McGill Universities, Humber College, Vancouver Film School, Centre for Indigenous Training and the National Theatre School, and is an adjunct at Concordia University. She holds a BA and MA from Queen’s University, is a graduate of Vancouver Film School and studied with Jacques LeCoq in Paris. Sarah is the Artistic Director of spiderwebshow.ca (a joint production between Praxis Theatre, Neworld Theatre and the NAC).
