Biography:
Sandra Cardinal is an emerging playwright whose first full production was mounted in the summer of 2013 with Festival Players of Prince Edward County, directed by Eliza Jane-Scott. The musical play for young audiences, Laura Secord, was co-written with composer Chris McKhool. Sandra was selcted for the Playwriting Academy of the InspiraTO Festival in 2014 where her ten-minute play The Magyar explored the lasting effects of revolution and family secrets. Sandra was previously an elementary teacher. In addiiton to writing plays, songs, poetry, and non-fiction, she is host of a Spoken Word series, called Makin' a Racket at the Rocket, third Friday of every month at the Red Rocket Coffee in Toronto's east end.
