Rosanna is an Italian Canadian Director, Dramaturge, New Play Maker, and Producer. She specializes in stylized, large cast productions, devised theatre work, and has directed over 60 shows ranging from classical to experimental, in just over two decades in the theatre.
Rosanna held the post of Director in Residence at the Canadian Stage from December, 2014-January, 2016, and she is the Founder and Artistic Director of art & lies productions, and of REDHANDED film and theatre. Directing credits include: Provenance by Ronnie Burkett (world premiere live actor version - Canadian Stage), Suitcases (a new devised work - Canadian Stage), Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard (all female version, adapted to include three interchangeable sets of R & G couplings throughout the show), Lord of the Flies by William Golding (all female adaptation), Killing Game by Eugene Ionesco (by special invitation, Annex Theatre, Toronto Fringe), Death; A Comedy (new play) by Elson, Windle, Saracino (by special invitation, One Yellow Rabbit/Motel), No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre (Theatre Passe Muraille). Also, she has directed theatrically driven events for companies such as The Canadian Opera Company, The PowerPlant, and for red carpet and film premiere events.
Rosanna works as an educator, and is the Head of the Acting Division at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, where she has instructed courses in monologue and scene study, improvisation, voice, text and movement, Shakespeare, Solo Show Creations, Musical Theatre Performance Scene Study. Her work at York University, in the Theatre Department was focused on instructing courses in Third and Fourth Year Creative Ensemble - focused on training actors, writers, and directors in the craft of new play creation. She has taught courses as a guest lecturer at Fanshawe, The Canadian Opera Company, The Classical Music Conservatory, and works as a private acting coach for many performers in theatre, film and tv. Rosanna has worked with business professionals from various corporations to enhance their communication and leadership skills, their presentation techniques, and their overall sense of style and confidence.
Over the last eight years, Rosanna has worked as a costume and wardrobe designer, in theatre, film and television and as a wardrobe stylist for special events, and has dressed a list of celebrity and professional clients.
