Rachel Peake (Theatre and Opera Director, Dramaturge, Creator) Rachel recently directed and dramaturged the world première of "Stickboy" at the Vancouver Opera (libretto by Shane Koyczan, composition by Neil Weisensel) and directed the première of "The Contest of Winds" for Caravan Farm Theatre. She has directed for companies from British Columbia to Newfoundland, including the Belfry Theatre, Théâtre la Seizième, Alley Theatre, Firehall Arts Centre, Pacific Opera Victoria, Studio 58, and Solo Collective Theatre, for whom she was the co-Artistic Director from 2008 to 2013. In 2014 Rachel took part in the Neil Munro Directing Internship at the Shaw Festival, where she directed "Rosalind" by JM Barrie. Rachel also spent two seasons in the Stratford Festivals Michael Langham Workshop for Classical Direction. In 2012 Rachel won the Jessie Richardson Award for Outstanding Direction and the Ray Michal Award for Outstanding Body of Work by an Emerging Director. Rachel is the Resident Stage Director of Dark by Five, an inter-arts collective at Gros Morne Summer Music, and she has worked extensively in new play development. Upcoming, Rachel will be co-creating a physical theatre piece entitled "Mata Hari" and directing "Selfie" for Théâtre la Seizième.
