Conni is an award-winning writer working in theatre, film, radio, and television. Recent stage credits include her adaptation of W.O. Mitchell's Jake and the Kid, premiered by Theatre Calgary in 2009; Oh Christmas Tree, premiered by Lunchbox Theatre in 2012; The Invention of Romance, featured in Workshop West Theatre's Springboards Festival and slated for production in 2014. Her full-length comedy The Myth of Summer was premiered by Alberta Theatre Projects in 2005 and the premiere of her adaptation of Bruce Allen Powe's The Aberhart Summer was co-produced by Alberta Theatre Projects and the Citadel Theatre. Conni has worked as a television series story editor on The Beat, North of 60, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes and as a story consultant on the documentary series Taking it Off and Family Restaurant (The Food Network). Film projects include a feature-length adaptation of her play Gravel Run, and the short film Voila, directed by Geraldine Carr. Conni's first book, Roadtripping: On the Move with the Buffalo Gals was released in 2010 by Brindle and Glass Publishing. Conni's creative work has been honoured by the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards, the Betty Mitchell Awards, AMPIA, and the Academy of Cinema and Television. She's a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal for contributions to the arts and was included as one of a hundred artists who have influenced theatre in Alberta during the last hundred years.
