McNally, Catherine

Biography: 

Catherine McNally Catherine is an award-winning Toronto actor, director, producer, educator as well as an international fellow of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre under Mark Rylance. As a Dora-nominated actor, Catherine is an international fellow with Shakespeare Globe in England, She is a recipient of the Christopher Plummer Fellowship award, Woman in Shakespeare Award, Tyrone Guthrie award, and is one of the top ten artists voted by Now Magazine. As a diverse actor, she was recently seen at the Campbell House, Boston Marriage (co-produced with Headstrong Collective), Chasing Margaret Flatwood, one of the top performances of Fringe ’14) Storefront Theatre (Contractions), Citadel Theatre (The Penelopiad), Canadian Stage (A Winter’s Tale), Harold Green Theatre (The Diary of Anne Frank). Other selected theatres: Tarragon (The Orphan Muses, Dora Nomination), Factory Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille (Hunger Striking), Buddies, Shakespeare-in-the-Rough, Theatre Aquarius, Native Earth, (Jewel, one-woman play that toured nationally), and Geva Theatre NY, and Shakespeare's Globe U.K. (Master at Play). Catherine has directed the acclaimed Trojan Women and Lysistrata for Theatre Erindale, and was assistant director at Canadian Stage, Stratford Festival (Tyrone Guthrie Award), and YPT. She has received the prestigious Christopher Plummer Award, named NOW’s top ten (#3), best performances of the Fringe ’07 (Mrs. Warren's Profession), best ensemble (In Darfur) Fringe ’08.
