Hurman, Kate

Biography: 

A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and Queen’s University, Kate has worked across Canada in theatre, radio, television and film as an actor, a director, a voice artist, a dramaturge and a writer for the past thirty years. Her voice can be heard on multiple cartoon series and many national commercial campaigns. From 1999 to 2008 Kate served as the Artistic Associate for English Theatre at the NAC, charged with programming the Youth Series and creating learning opportunities. Kate is also an arts educator, working with students of all ages, in the public and private systems, including the University of Ottawa, the Ottawa School of Speech and Drama and the resident Voice, Speech and Classical Theatre Professor at St. Lawrence College. Her project-based company Make Work Theatre develops and produces work for the stage and collaborative learning opportunities for children and teachers.
