Greenfield, Kathleen

Biography: 

Kathleen is dedicated to collaborative creation, devised theatre, junk theatre, and community involvement. Her interests and experience are in site-specific outdoor performance, all kinds of puppetry, folk stories and women, alternative education practices, and community activism. She holds a BFA in Theatre with a Directing Specialization from the University of Victoria and is currently Co-Artist Director of SNAFU Dance Theatre. She has directed the premiere productions of many new works including, "PHOTO|PHOBIA: A Dream Journey" (Kate Rubin – Advanced Teen Performance Co.), "Somethingville" (SNAFU - Kaleidoscope Family Theatre Festival), "Little Orange Man" (SNAFU – GCTC Undercurrents Festival, Centaur Children’s Festival), "Kitt & Jane" (SNAFU-Belfry Spark Festival, UVIC-SPOTLIGHT ON ALUMNI and CANADIAN FRINGE TOUR 2014), and "The Shoes" (Humble Wonder Theatre-Belfry I ncubator Project). She has also participated as performer, creator, artist liaison and/or organizer of "Bike Ride" 2009 - 2013, "Haunted" 2009, "Schoolhouse Rocks" 2008 and 2009 with Theatre SKAM. Kathleen facilitates workshops with William Head on Stage an inmate-run production company located inside William Head Institution in VIctoria, BC. In 2014, Kathleen collaborated with WHoS and the Prison Arts Collective to devise and write "Time Waits for No One: A Prison Play." The play was performed for the public inside the prison walls and she performed the role of Charlotte alongside the men.
