A writer and performer, most recently Julia’s hit play, With Love and a Major Organ, was produced by Strawdog Theatre in Chicago. In Toronto, it was named “Outstanding New Play” by NOW Magazine and “Best of Fringe” (Toronto Fringe). Other plays include: Frame (The Seven Collective, NY), Reality Theatre (Winner of Driftwood Theatre’s Jury Prize), Boxed In (Hysteria Festival/Buddies in Bad Times), and her first play for young audiences, It's Nothing, developed in Roseneath Theatre's playwright's unit. Film/TV: Witch Office (top 15% of AMC’s One-Hour Pilot Competition, Austin Film Festival), Upstaged (Great Lake Films, LA Comedy Festival), and contributing to the webseries, Opus (rorbi, NY).
Acting: Stag and Doe (Upper Canada Playhouse), Chasing Margaret Flatwood (Theatre Awakening), With Love and a Major Organ, and many productions with Birdtown & Swanville including 36 Little Plays About Hopeless Girls and Dead Wrestlers.
As a stand up comedian, Julia has performed in shows including Bad Bitches, Dawn Patrol, Mullet's Night Show, and West End Girls.
Upcoming: A new play, The Best Plan for Living Happily (VideoFag, April 2016), and developing a script in the Thousand Islands Playhouse’s playwrights unit.
