Biography: 

Joanne is a ​Toronto-bsased ​stage director and arts administrator. Directing credits include Savannah Bay & Le Shaga by Marguerite Duras (Spiel Players); Wild Dogs on the Moscow Trains by Anthony MacMahon and THEORY by Norman Yeung (SummerWorks Theatre Festival); Then He Wakes Up by Matt Sarookanian and Finally: An Epic Cycle by Sarah Cody (Toronto Fringe Festival).​ She was nominated for the ​Ontario Arts Council's ​Pauline McGibbon​ ​Award in 2015.​
She studied Drama and English at Queen's University, and has held positions at Canadian Stage and the Toronto Fringe Festival and in casting, company management, general management, and professional development programs for artists. She is ​currently completing a year-long Metcalf Foundation Performing Arts Internship under the mentorship of David Abel, Executive Director at Art of Time Ensemble. She has participated in several juries and artists advisories and is currently a jury member for the Independent Division of the Dora Mavor Moore Awards, chair of ​Alumnae Theatre’s Mainstage Programming and Director Selection Committee, and Vice President of Theatre Ontario's Board of Directors.
