Biography:
Joan Burrows is a retired teacher of English and Dramatic Arts. Her first play, Staff Room, won several awards including Best Production at the Theatre Ontario Festival 2004 and was published by PCP in Grassroots.The Photograph, 2008, won an ACT-CO award for Best New Canadian Play. Willow Quartet won The Playwrights of Spring award in 2009, was an Equity production in 2011 and published by PCP in 2013. Gloria's Guy was produced at Fireworks 2014 (Alumnae Theatre). Brockfest, a work in progress, was produced at the New Ideas Festval, March 2014. Besides her writing, Joan has been an actve voluneer with TAPA (Toonto Alliance for the Peforming Arts) for the past 10 years.
