Biography: 

Canadian playwright Janet Hinton writes in a variety of styles and her work is always dynamic. Twice winner of the Alberta Playwrights’ Network Award and nominated for an Edmonton Sterling award, Janet’s plays have been produced in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Her experience as a volunteer in Africa lead to the creation of plays Batturi and Delicate State Disturbed and to her currently evolving novel, Rooting. Her work as an improvisational theatre instructor inspired Moon Reachers. Janet’s 2016 Theatre BC award- winning play Aiming to Float reflects her experience as a patient and facilitator at a pain clinic. It was developed with help from the Playwright Theatre Centre Writers Colony program and read at the Ruby Theatre Festival, Vancouver Fringe in September, 2016.
