Gillian studied design for the theatre at York University and is currently designing Set and Costume across Canada. She has been awarded 3 Dora Mavor Moore awards for her design work on Appetite (set and costumes, Volcano) and The Mill (set, Theatrefront). Her recent costume design for The Red Priest (ATP) was nominated for a Betty Award and her costume design for Mary Poppins (Citadel and Theatre Calgary) was nominated for both a Betty Award and Sterling Award. Gillian’s Set and Costume design for She Loves Me (Thousand Islands Playhouse) was nominated for a Capital Critics Award. She has been nominated for the Virginia and Myrtle Cooper Award in Costume Design and The Pauline McGibbon Award. She is currently designing costumes for the Canadian Opera Company’s Louis Riel.
