Biography: 

Ellen Chorley is an Edmonton-based producer, playwright, performer and theatre instructor. Ellen is the Founder/ Artistic Director of Promise Productions, a theatre for young audiences company in Edmonton. Ellen is also the Artistic Co-Director and Playwright-in-Residence for Send in the Girls Burlesque and wrote "Tudor Queens: A Burlesque," "A Bronte Burlesque" and "The Hollywoodland Burlesques" as well as originating the roles of Queen Jane Seymour, Emily Bronte and Louella Parsons. Ellen’s other plays include Bohemia Perso (Nextfest),Bridezilla , Good Girls Don’t and Emma Burden (Mob Hit Productions), Big Winner (Hope in Elle Productions), and over eighteen plays for young audiences including Birdie on the Wrong Bus, The Fairy Catcher’s Companion, Princess Confidential and the two-time Sterling Award winning Murielle. Ellen also serves as Artistic Associate for Edmonton's Northern Light Theatre, works as a Drama Group Leader at the Autism Society of Edmonton, teaches acting classes at Foote Theatre School at the Citadel Theatre, is the High School Curator for Nextfest and sits on the steering committee for the Theatre Edmonton Project. Ellen was recently named one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 and is the recipient of the Nextfest Emerging Artist Award.
