Eva Colmers works as a writer and director in theatre, film and television. With a rather visual writing style, she has also created "stories" for dance and puppetry. Her latest produced play, Beneath the Ice (Cookie Theatre, Edmonton; Quest Theatre, Calgary) is for family audiences and won a Sterling Award 2011. Other produced stage plays include Down by the Brook, The Visit Next Door, A Suitcase Full of Stories and the dance piece ki _ for Mile Zero Dance. Recently, Eva was invited to the prestigious BILTC program - Banff International Literary Translation Centre - where she translatedShakespeare's Will by Govenor General award-winning playwright Vern Thiessen into German. Eva has also written and directed a dozen award-winning shortfilms (Granny Baby, Blink!, End of the Rope, HandSum, The Weightless Traveller) as well as two documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada (The Elder Project, The Enemy Within). Her films have been invited to many film festivals across the globe and have received several awards.
