Welcome to Equity in Theatre

Mader, Denise

Denise has created two diverse solo shows. THIS ONE is an autobiographical journey through love, loss, and baking, complete with post-show pie reception. SOMEDAY is a short comedic piece in which seminar leader Pamela Steel deftly guides participants towards a cutting edge psychological technology called Someday, but then unexpectedly encounters an unplanned, unorthodox, and unexplainable lesson of her own. Denise holds an M.F.A in Acting from York University as well as a B.F.A in Music Theatre from the University of Windsor. She has been seen in film festivals throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe in the award winning film Falling For Caroline in which she plays the title character. Other previous credits include The Threepenny Opera (Soulpepper), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Festival of Classics), Steel Magnolias (Port Stanley Festival Theatre), South Pacific (Sunshine Festival Theatre) as well as appearing on the CTV series Dan For Mayor. Denise is an actress, writer, singer, teacher, and producer. She grew up on a farm in South Western Ontario and lives in Toronto.denisemader.com
