Conni is an award-winning writer working in theatre, film and television. Stage credits include Night Shift (This is YEG) and The Invention of Romance, both recently premiered by Workshop West Theatre, Oh! Christmas Tree, commissioned and premiered by Lunchbox Theatre; and her stage adaptations of W.O Mitchell’s Jake and the Kid (commissioned and premiered by Theatre Calgary) and of Bruce Allen Powe’s The Aberhart Summer. She has several publications to her credit, including six of her plays and a comic memoir, Roadtripping: On the Move with the Buffalo Gals, published by Brindle and Glass in 2010. Conni’s television credits including writing episodes and/or story editing for North of 60, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, The Beat, Mentors, Taking it Off and Family Restaurant. She is currently in development with her one-hour dramedy Buddha Falls. Film credits include the short films Invisible and Voila!.
Conni has served as writer-in-residence at the National Theatre School, Playwrights Workshop Montreal, Theatre Network and the Edmonton Public Library. Her writing has been recognized by AMPIA, the Academy of Cinema and Television, the Betty Mitchell Awards, the Writers Guild of Alberta and the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards. Conni is a proud member (and past-president) of the Playwrights Guild of Canada.
