Based in Toronto, Elizabeth trained at the University of Alberta where she received her BFA Honours in acting. She has worked extensively as an actor for over 25 years playing leading roles at the Shaw Festival, in theatres in Toronto and throughout Canada. Her theatre experience and interest is wide ranging, and she derives equal pleasure from exploring everything from new works to the classics. In recent years Elizabeth has also turned her hand to directing. Recent directing credits include the critically acclaimed Holy Mothers (Die Prasidentinnen) for Divine Bovine at Summerworks, AS IF (YPT), assistant director on Beyond the Cuckoos Nest (YPT), Speed the Plow (Soulpepper) and A Tender Thing (The Belfry). Elizabeth was shortlisted for the 2014 Gina Wilkinson Prize, and in 2013 was awarded a Theatre Ontario grant to study and assistant direct under Peter Hinton. Elizabeth has been a Resident Artist-Educator at Young Peoples Theatre, a sought after acting instructor she has taught and mentored for numerous leading arts organizations including George Brown, Soulpepper, Shakesperience, Words in Motion, The Paprika, and her own company ShakespearesCool, as well as coaching privately. Elizabeth also had an extensive career both on camera and voice-over and has a background in both movement and improv.
