Chislett, Anne

Biography: 

Anne Chislett's plays have been produced across Canada and in the United States. The Tomorrow Box became a hit in Japan where it has toured to more than a hundred cities and has been produced three times in Tokyo. The Japanese translation by Toyoshi Yoshihara has recently been published in hard cover. Chislett's Quiet in the Land won the Governor-General's Award for Drama and the Chalmers Canadian Play Award (1983). Flippin' In won the Chalmers Canadian Play Award in the Theatre for Young Audiences division (1996). Not Quite the Same was nominated in 2000 for both the Dora Mavor Moore and Chalmers awards. Other plays include Yankee Notions and Another Season's Promise (written with Keith Roulston). She was Artistic Director of the Blyth Festival, a unique summer theatre producing new Canadian plays which she co-founded, from 1998 to 2002.
