Calling Our Queer Bodies Home
Saturday, June 18, 2016
2:00pm 3:15pm
Historically, many queers have had to choose between coming out or losing their families. How does our out queer presence affect the identity of our blood family? What is at stake when they also must negotiate a place of belonging in their community and culture?
In this multi-genre, multi-generational event, five authors create an embodied place in the spirit of belonging. An interlaced reading, they build a woven text with call and response, asserting: Wherever you go, you belong. This performance event is designed to provoke and to heal.
