Generations of European and Indigenous mixed race families lived in Papiyek (now called Brockton Point in Stanley Park) before being evicted from their homes and forced to re-locate. This is the story of three Indigenous women who lived in Papiyek at the turn of the 20th century.

Ruby Slippers Theatre and Equity in Theatre have partnered with the Fringe to showcase dramatic readings of five new plays by Canadian women playwrights. According to a national study, women account for less than a third of artistic directors, working directors, and produced playwrights in professional Canadian theatre. Hence, Advance Theatre! Curated by Ruby Slippers Theatre with priority given to diversity, these five new plays by diverse Canadian women and directed by diverse Canadian women will be presented as matinees during the Festival.
