The Times They Are A-Changin': A Strawberry Ceremony Fundraiser

In the spirit of community, we invite you to join us for a full performance of Bob Dylan's fiery 1964 album "The Times They Are A-Changin'", in support of the 12th Annual Strawberry Ceremony for Indigenous Women, Girls, Trans, and Two-Spirits.

The Strawberry Ceremony in Toronto is organized by No More Silence. In their words: "On February 14th we come together in solidarity with the women who started this vigil over 20 years ago in Vancouver's Downtown East Side, and with the marches and rallies that will be taking place across this land. We stand in defense of our lives and to demonstrate against the complicity of the state in the ongoing genocide of Indigenous women and the impunity of state institutions and actors (police, RCMP, coroners' offices, the courts, and an indifferent federal government) that prevents justice for all Indigenous peoples. 5 years ago the February 14th Organizing Committee was formed in an effort to broaden community participation in the planning of the event - the committee is now made up of individuals and organizations including The Native Youth Sexual Health Network, Sistering, Maggies - Toronto Sex Workers Action Project and other feminist and Indigenous community organizations."

Our goal is to raise $500 for No More Silence, which provides the cost of the meal that they provide for families as part of the Ceremony.

Tickets will be $15 at the door. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate, please message Richard Lam, or contact No More Silence directly through their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/N0M0reSilence/.
