Focus: Diversity at the Jessies
Monday, October 5th | 7pm: AGM, 7:30pm: Town Hall
The Dorothy Somerset Studios (6361 University Blvd, UBC)
(approximate times - Town Hall to immediately follow the AGM)
The Town Hall will be focused on diversity, defined as inclusive of race, gender, sexuality, ability, age, and religion. Moderated by Marcus Youssef and Dawn Brennan, the discussion will focus on what the Jessie Awards can be doing to encourage, support, and celebrate diversity, as well as explore further steps to ensure the awards are inclusive in their representation of Vancouver's professional theatre community.
Help the Jessies set the agenda: They want to make sure that they address the questions and issues that are most important to their members with regards to diversity at the Jessies. Please email Board President Andrea Loewen at info@jessies.ca with any suggestions or questions you would like to address and they will do their best to fit them in.
NOTE: Only current members will be able to vote at the AGM. All are welcome to participate in the discussion at both the AGM and Town Hall.
