The Gateway Theatre Pacific Festival is a showcase of world-class contemporary theatre from Hong Kong and Canada. Throughout the month of September, Gateway Theatre will present new and exciting theatre from Hong Kong with English surtitles.
This is a festival for everyone. All theatre lovers, regardless of what language they speak, will get a glimpse of what’s new and exciting from Hong Kong’s stages. The star-studded shows represented in this year’s Pacific Festival are filled with warmth and laughter.
The Lower Mainland boasts hundreds of thousands of Cantonese speakers who are proud to see their language and culture front and centre in one of the province’s foremost venues. For those who do not speak Cantonese, the Pacific Festival is a window to another world. It is the next best thing to hopping on a plane to Hong Kong. Gateway Theatre is the only professional theatre in Canada to showcase such high-calibre work from across the Pacific. We are proud to bring this work to Metro Vancouver.
