THE ENCHANTED LOOM

THE ENCHANTED LOOM is set in Toronto in the spring of 2009 during the last two weeks of the Sri Lankan civil war. It tells the story of a Sri Lankan Tamil refugee family both shattered and bound by the trauma they all share.

What keeps two people together? What pulls them apart? Sex? Love? Creativity? Compromise? In this intimate new work by award-winning writer Rafael Antonio Rederos, Félix and Nacio are struggling to find answers when a mysterious drifter appears and upends their lives.

#ShareTheScreen – Working With Deaf Performers with Elizabeth Morris

The Toronto ACTRA Diversity Committee is proud to present a workshop on Deaf culture and working with Deaf performers as a part of our ongoing #ShareTheScreen initiative. Taught by performer and instructor, Elizabeth Morris, this workshop will be taught in American Sign Language with American Sign Language/English interpretation. We will cover some history of Deaf culture’s contributions to media, as well as working with Deaf artists on set and in rehearsals. Directors, producers, actors, writers, arts managers who want to learn more about working with Deaf artists are welcome to attend.
